Web/Mobile Design & Strategy Track

What advice would you give first-time eduWeb Digital Summit attendees who are looking to make the most of the conference?

“I say this every year, but it’s true… Walk up to someone you don’t know and ask them why they’re attending EduWeb and ask them about their institution or company and how you can help each other. Ask a lot of questions and introduce yourself – make sure to visit the vendors, too. This conference is not about ego or status, it’s about learning and networking, sharing ideas, and making new friends. If you see me, please stop me and say hello! EduWeb is always a great conference with so many amazing individuals. Higher Ed is truly a great space and our people make the difference.”

What themes do you expect to emerge in your track this year?

“This year, both the themes and trends you’ll see go beyond just adapting for mobile – This year, there is more chatter about updating the digital experience and re-designing your website to better your institution’s brand. It’s all about UX.  We all want to increase applications received by prospective students, right?  And we all would love to expand donations given by our alumni communities, too, right? Content is still king, what has changed is the way in which people consume it. Micro sites and services are growing along with inbound marketing and social media integration. This exciting track serves all levels, so please don’t be afraid. If you’re looking for answers on how to organize and update your website to increase visitors, or how to better strategize with your web development team, then this is the right track for you.”

Have you visited Philadelphia before? What are you most excited to see and do?

“This is my second time visiting Philadelphia and I cannot wait! I’m looking forward to meeting tons of new faces, learning about new technologies at EduWeb, and exploring the city of brotherly love. Perhaps we can experience a Phillies game while we’re on town? A cheese steak? Ring the Liberty Bell? Please join me on the bar crawl and we can experience some regional beers, cuisine, and local hot spots together.”
